A Florida woman was attacked and killed by a dog in Oakland Park on Thursday. NBC Miami reports it happened just before 11 a.m. at 100+ Abandoned Dogs of Everglades Florida.Officials said the shelter worker was working with a mixed-breed dog named Gladys, when it suddenly attacked her.”The two adult females are workers. One of them was working with the dog when apparently the dog suddenly snapped. A second adult female tried to aid that first worker and in the process, she herself got injured,” Broward Sheriffs’ Office spokesperson Claudinne Caro said.Broward County Animal Care officials later confirmed that the dog was humanely euthanized.Both attacked women were taken to the hospital, but one of them didn’t make it. The deceased victim was identified by her wife as Pam Robb. Angie Anobile told CBS Miami her wife died “being Pam Robb, a wonderful, giving, caring person.” Anobile said Robb loved caring for animals. “She had a love for those animals, she really did, and they responded very well to her,” says Anobile. “This was just a fluke accident. No one did anything out of the ordinary.”100+ Abandoned Dogs of Everglades Florida was founded in 2011 and its mission is to rescue dogs that have been neglected or abused and bring them back to health.
